By accessing and using HBCU AID (hbcuaid.com), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Description of Service

HBCU AID provides a free scholarship and grant discovery platform for students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Our services include:

  • A searchable directory of scholarships and grants
  • An AI-powered chatbot (Miss Legacy) for scholarship guidance
  • An HBCU school directory covering all 105 HBCUs
  • Educational content about financial aid, FAFSA, and student loans

HBCU AID is free for students. We may offer paid institutional licensing to colleges and universities.

User Eligibility

HBCU AID is available to all users, including students, families, educators, and institutional representatives. You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform. If you are under 18, you should review this policy with a parent or guardian.

User Responsibilities

By using HBCU AID, you agree to:

  • Use the platform for lawful purposes only
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site
  • Not use automated tools to scrape or mass-download scholarship data
  • Not misrepresent your identity when contacting us
  • Verify all scholarship information independently before applying

Scholarship Information Disclaimer

HBCU AID aggregates scholarship and grant information from publicly available sources. While we make reasonable efforts to verify accuracy and keep information current, we do not guarantee that scholarship details (amounts, deadlines, eligibility requirements, or URLs) are always accurate or up to date.

Users are solely responsible for verifying all scholarship information directly with the issuing organization before applying. HBCU AID is not responsible for any scholarship application decisions, outcomes, or disputes.

Miss Legacy AI Chatbot

Miss Legacy is an AI assistant that provides general guidance about scholarships, financial aid, and the HBCU landscape. Her responses are informational only and do not constitute legal, financial, or academic advice. Always verify important information with official sources.

Intellectual Property

The HBCU AID name, logo, design, and platform content are our property or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any content from hbcuaid.com without written permission, except that you may share individual scholarship listings using normal web sharing tools.

External Links

HBCU AID contains links to external websites (scholarship providers, HBCU websites, partner platforms). We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Use external links at your own discretion.

Institutional Licensing

HBCU AID offers campus-wide licensing to institutions. Institutional license agreements are governed by separate contracts, not these Terms of Service. For institutional licensing inquiries, contact us at hello@hbcuaid.com.

Advertiser Terms

Sponsored scholarship and grant listings are clearly labeled. Advertisers must ensure their listings comply with applicable laws and do not contain discriminatory eligibility criteria. HBCU AID reserves the right to reject or remove any sponsored listing that violates our standards.

Limitation of Liability

HBCU AID is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the platform. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HBCU AID shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HBCU AID, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wake County, North Carolina.
